lunch at Tao's restaurant
Daddy bought us to Paradiz Centre at Selegie Road for lunch at Tao's Restaurant located at #B1-19 yesterday which is 27 June 2009. The menu is much more different from other restaurant menu. The lunch menu comprises of a 6 course lunch set which is around $20 plus. *WOW* Firstly, the Potato & Bacon Gratin  This is the so-called appetizer i supposed. It comes in a metal plate and is served with bread. To me, i don't really like this dish maybe its a little too cheesy for me. But for people who likes cheese, this is a definitely MUST-EAT food. Secondly, the Salad   You can choose one of the salads among the 5 to 6 salads on the menu. For me, i chose the fruit salad. Unlike other fruit salad, there is a layer of minced crab stick on the top of the fruit. A very rare combination i supposed. My mum and brother ate the salmon salad. The salmon slices is very very tasty even without the sauce. Thirdly, the Soup (No picture) You can choose one of the soups among the 4 soups on the menu. For me, i chose the shark's fin melon soup. (p.s, it's not the shark's fin, it's actually a melon soup) My mum chose the pumpkin soup and my dad chose the mushroom soup. The melon soup i chose is very tasty and it's not oily. As for the pumpkin soup, i don't really fancy pumpkin so i don't have much comment on it. The mushroom soup is different from other restaurant's mushroom soup, it's actually a Japanese style mushroom soup. Fifthly, the Main  You can choose one of the main among the 6 mains on the menu. For me, i chose the Spicy Stingray, my dad chose the award winning dish - Pork back rib. My mum and brother chose the chicken jumbo leg. The spicy stingray is spicy but not as spicy as those found in hawker centre. Sixth, the Dessert  You can choose one of the desserts among the 6 desserts on the menu. For me, i chose the creme brulee. My dad chose the yam ice cream which is common. My mum chose the tiramisu.The creme brulee have a layer of melted sugar on the top and is eaten with the custard. Lastly, the Drink  You can choose one of the drinks among the 6 drinks on the menu. Mum and I chose Orange juice. Dad and brother chose the iced apple tea. The orange juice is any other orange juice that are found in supermarket. The iced apple apple tea is special, it comes in a small pot and a small cup beside on the tray. Inside the pot, is the cubed apple and some flower. To me, it's like apple tea. Overall, i think that it is a worth going place. The service is good, the atmosphere is good. Most importantly, the food is good. The portion is big and not small. *Thumbs up*
